Beverley Abbott, Bachelor of Social Work,
Master of Arts, Counselling Employee Assistance Consultant, Substance
Abuse Professional, Motivational Interviewing Counsellor and Trainer
Beverley Abbott joined OHI in 2001.
Beverley has been working in the
counselling field since 1986. Since 1998 she has focused on the
Employee Assistance Field. There she has counselled individuals, families,
and couples on a wide range of issues, as well as delivered workshops
and spoken at conferences on a variety of topics
Prior
to this, Beverley specialized for twelve years in the area of
substance abuse including at a residential addiction treatment centre
where she supervised the counselling staff. During that time,
Beverley designed, implemented, and evaluated a treatment program
specifically geared to the needs of addicted women, and presented on
this topic extensively throughout Canada. As a result of the
program’s success, she was hired by Corrections Canada to
develop a treatment program for implementation in all the
women’s correctional facilities across Canada.

Capler, Master of Social Work,

Misha
joined OHI-Ontario in 2008
Misha
has been practicing since 1994 providing a full range of mental
health counselling to adolescents, adults, couples, and families.
After working with adolescents and families in Ottawa and Vancouver,
she continued her career in community mental health in rural Utah, where she worked for 10 years. She has extensive experience in Cognitive
Behavioural Therapy and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, and has been
trained in Critical Incident and Stress Debriefing for individuals
and teams following serious injury or death in the workplace.
Misha
has completed Level 1 of the e-counselling certification from the School of Social Work at the University

Beth Ellis, Registered Social Worker,
Master of Counselling and
EFAP Consultant
Beth joined OHI in 1991
Beth has over 30 years of
experience. Since 1989 she has worked in the field of Employee
Assistance Programs providing counselling on a wide range of issues
to individuals, couples and families.
Prior to this, Beth worked for 23 years in
Alberta Social Services with children and families. She
participated in various Joint Management/Union Advisory committees
for 3 years in her role as a union leader. Since 1989 Beth has
experience in providing treatment to convicted sex offenders in the
Phoenix Program. She has skills in dealing with the issues of
substance abuse and anger management. She is also a licensed
clinical hypnotherapist. Beth utilizes an integrative approach
which includes the use of cognitive behavioural techniques and
psychodynamic theory.

Harold Glass, Master of Social Work,
Clinical Social Worker, Substance Abuse Professional
Harold Glass has worked with OHI and
affiliates since 1991
For close to thirty years, Harold has been
counselling individuals and families and offering classes and
workshops to staff groups on a wide variety of subjects.
Harold is an expert in the area of
marriage and family counselling, specializing particularly in the
problems facing teenagers and adolescents. Harold is experienced and
trained in the area of providing addiction treatment and has
successfully worked with drug and alcohol, gambling and sexual
addictions. Harold is a Substance Abuse Professional, qualified
to evaluate employees who have violated drug and alcohol policies and
makes recommendations concerning education, treatment, follow-up
testing, and aftercare.
In
addition Harold has worked in numerous settings providing Critical
Incident and Stress Debriefing to individuals and teams following
serious injury or death in the workplace. Harold has offered
training and support to Stress Debriefing Teams.

Tom Hill, Master of Science Counselling Psychology,
Certified Alcohol and Drug Counsellor II, Certificate in
E-counselling
Tom
Hill joined OHI in 2008
Tom
brings to Organizational Health Incorporated several years of
experience in child and family counselling and in the addiction
field. Tom’s social services career began in 1977. He
began his counselling career as a Child and Youth care worker in
residential treatment programs, and has been a supervisor, manager
and director in child welfare services.
Tom
has a strong background working in the addiction field, having worked
with adolescents in Hawaii and having provided intensive outpatient
treatment for adults in Oregon.
He
currently provides child, youth and family counselling services, as
well as services to clients facing challenges from substance use,
gambling, and pornography.
Tom
has completed Level 1 of the e-counselling certification from the School of Social Work at the University of Toronto.

Shelagh Kennedy, Master of Educational
Psychology, Registered Psychologist, Employee Assistance Consultant
Shelagh Kennedy has worked for OHI and
affiliates since 1994.
Shelagh has a Master’s in
Educational Psychology, a Bachelor of Education and a Bachelor of
Science. She started providing psychotherapy in 1994 and was a
teacher for eight years prior.
Shelagh provides mainly individual therapy
to adults. Shelagh’s interests include working with people who
are depressed, anxious, grieving, have experienced abuse or trauma,
are having relationship or communication difficulties, or are
experiencing stress in their professional or personal lives.
She utilizes a variety of approaches including the use of EMDR (Eye
Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and EFT (Emotional Freedom
Techniques). She works using an integrative approach, which includes
cognitive-behavioural and psychodynamic therapies as well as a
solution-focused approach. She also provides career
testing and counselling .She has delivered workshops on a variety of
topics including Stress Management, Seasonal Affective Disorder,
Depression and Dealing with Conflict.

Jack Lewis,
Registered Psychologist, EFAP Counsellor
Jack
joined OHI in 2002
Jack
has over 30 years’ experience in counselling and clinical psychology. He
has worked in several in-patient and out-patient clinics where he
provided psychotherapy for a wide range of mental health conditions.
He also worked as a psychologist at a day centre for adolescents living
in families with complex mental health problems. As a senior clinical
psychologist in community mental health, he contributed his expertise
assessing and treating individuals and families. He has been a
consultant psychologist and supervisor for many projects over the
years including Social Services.
As
part of his current position with OHI he consults with companies and
organizations in the management of employee conflict in the work
place. He also presents workshops concerning mental health
issues. He is an expert in stress management and relaxation
techniques, working with groups and individuals.
Jack
uses a positive integrative approach that supports the client’s
strengths and abilities. His back ground includes cognitive
behavioural therapy, psychodynamics, interpersonal theory and
mindfulness. His special interests and expertise includes
working with teenagers, couples therapy and helping individuals
dealing with stress-based issues such as depression and
anxiety.

Emma Rickard, Bachelor of Social Work,
Diploma in Mental Health, R.S.W. Counsellor and EAP Consultant
Emma joined OHI in 2005
Emma has been practicing since 1990 and
has social work experience in New Zealand, England and Canada. She has worked in a broad range of social work settings including child
protection, rehabilitation, private practice and community-based
mental health. She served at the University of Canterbury (New Zealand) as a Tutor and a Field Work teacher to Social Work students.
She has many years experience as a Senior
Social Worker/ Team leader in a community-based Mental Health
Service, offering comprehensive assessment and short term counselling
to children, adolescents, adults and families.
In addition, Emma has experience in offering self
help/educational workshops to small groups and is certified to
provide Critical Incident and Stress Debriefing to individuals and
teams following serious injury or death in the workplace.
